Once again, Smokey Robotic has released a visually unique interesting music video that’s hard to ignore. Plus the music is always really catchy and intriguing so it goes great with videos. Their music is unique and so are the diverse set of videos they have been releasing for the last couple years. I always can’t wait for what they do next and with “Schizophrenic DJ” they once again impress with the visuals and the song production.
Watch the video to “Schizophrenic DJ” below. (more…)
Although we try our best to avoid it, strife between loved ones cannot be escaped. It’s what you do with the strife that makes the difference.
It’s easy to run when relationships become painful, but often we miss out on experiencing the deepest levels of love when we flee.
“Unlike Anyone” is a song about sticking with someone through the hardest times, refusing to let go even when we feel angry, hurt, and frustrated. If you fight to stay, you’ll emerge from the darkness with a bond that will carry you through the obstacles ahead.
If you make two lists about the person you love; first, all the things you enjoy about them and the second, all the things that drive you crazy — Love is the second list.
Champions of the poetic and surreal, Smokey Robotic‘s “Unlike Anyone” instead speaks directly from the heart about real life, in real words.
The spaceship has landed. Thank you for not losing your faith.
Love,
Smokey Robotic

“Wooing the Wooers (or seducing those who seduce us) has been our life’s mission but this does not simply mean fighting the powers that dominate our culture. Our minds are also wooers of themselves and as we grow, our hearts and souls slowly attempt to woo our brains awake.” - Smokey Robotic
Smokey Robotic is preparing for the release of their new album, Hurricane Dove. For the next few months, SB will release selected songs to give the wooers of the world a deep look into themselves.
Video animation for “Woo the Wooers” was produced by visual artist, Rachael Freedman (also worked on “SR” and “HotBrass“), part of the Smokey Robotic art collective extended family.
Don’t listen to “Woo The Wooers” until you watch the video! Both are below.
What the fuck is going on in this video? What are these lyrics about? I have so many questions and yet am so intrigued and find myself watching the video again and again. Smokey Robotic never ceases to surprise us with their video and lyrical content. With their latest video, “The Shark & The Helicopter”, they show ice-cream melting in the background of radient colors as just one example of the random intriguing visuals they provide all set in the backdrop of New York City.
Watch “The Shark & The Helicopter” below. Would love to hear some of your comments regarding the song and video!
Smokey Robotic is back with a new song, “Blood Moon”, which has a smooth electropop sound with solid drums backing the verses. I never quite understand what Smokey Robotic is singing about but I always seem to find things in their song I enjoy.
Once again the five best songs we received through soundcloud are a wide variety but sure to please the ears. Here’s Soundcloud’s Best for September. If you got music we need to hear, submit it to our Soundcloud.
First I wanted to highlight DJ Burnout‘s best mashup he released in September with “One More Hump” which uses Daft Punk‘s “One More Time” on instrumentals mixed with several bumping pop songs that bring the hump. Yikes that sounded kind of gross… get the bumping music on to bring the hump… “One More Hump”! One More Hump (Daft Punk / Missy Elliot / Lady Gaga / Black Eyed Peas) by DJ Burnout
Now for a group that if you are not familiar with them yet, you should be as they have a superfuture sound that is slowly catching on. Here’s Smokey Robotic‘s latest, “No Reality”, which features Redman! Haven’t heard from Redman in a while so that’s a great addition to quite an interesting song. No Reality (feat. Redman) by Smokey Robotic
Lastly comes another artist who has a fairly prominent feature on the blog, Aziz. The instrumental produced by No Studio is what caught my ear and the rapping from Aziz goes so well with this banging hip-hop anthem. My only question is, who the fuck is Clay Davis? Well I googled it and found out Clay Davis is a character from HBO’s The Wire and he was known for saying ”sheeeeee-it,” which the song ends with. I enjoy the song a bit more now knowing that. Aziz – Clay Davis

Superfuture music duo Smokey Robotic dropped their newest project, The Shark & The Helicopter LP a few weeks back and once again they create this unique sound with some unusual lyrics. They are the kind of music group where they either grow on you or you dislike them more and more. However I’m on the end that is a big fan and see lots of potential.

So much good music, it’s tough to get it all to you where it’s super fresh. Hopefully you haven’t heard Smokey Robotic‘s latest song, “Unbuttoned” which came with a promo trailer to what I’m expecting to be another high-quality music video.
In “Unbuttoned”, the song takes a real up-and-down tone darker tone but it pumps you up when midway through the song it gets a little softer then breaks back into the upbeat rocking beats. I like that Smokey Robotic continues sounding with that super-future sound and I truly can’t wait to hear what’s next. Download “Unbuttoned”
“SuperVicious” is the Smokey roll call, a triumphant space symphony for all the superfuturistic funk fiends.
Reason why I continue to become a bigger and bigger fan of Smokey Robotic is in how they blend genres and really are developing a unique sound which I continue to look forward to. Download “SuperVicious”
