Review: Story Of The Running Wolf at Bootleg Theater

October 8th, 2015 by | Electropop, synthpop |

This past Monday I caught Story Of The Running Wolf, who opened for the first night of Kid Cadaver’s residency on Monday nights at the Bootleg Theater. SOTRW is a nostalgic 80’s band with good synth pop/electro pop vibes. The two-piece band really jams out and dresses in awesome attire. My favorite song was the last one they finished with, “Stratospheric” because it sounded like a Porter Robinson song I love and how the song builds is pretty cool. They released their Electric EP last month, stream it below which has my favorites “Electric” and “Stratospheric”.

Hidden Gem: Story of the Running Wolf *LA Electro duo

January 3rd, 2013 by | Album/Mixtape/EP Review, Electro, Electropop, Hidden Gem, synthpop |

Story of the Running Wolf is an electro duo based out of Los Angeles, CA. A little bit retro, a little bit future, they blend 80’s influences like Depeche Mode and Duran Duran with modern electro-dance elements, creating an infectious sound that’s all their own. After playing their first show at a rooftop party in early 2012, the band began developing a live show experience which has been described as a “John Hughes party on Neptune”, replete with neon lasers, make-up, fog and feathers. Their new self-titled EP is available for free download at www.sotrw.com.

They just dropped their first song/video from their debut EP, “Stratospheric”. Stream and download their EP below.

Watch the video to “Stratospheric” below. (more…)
