T.I. brings us his single “Like That” off of his upcoming album Trouble Man, scheduled to release on September 4th, the day before the season 2 premiere of “T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle“. Check out the song and enjoy!
Travi$ Scott has been making moves since he dropped his track “XX” produced by award winning Lex Luger. He has been meeting with many of the worlds best rappers, and on his latest hit, Animal, he got Grand Hustle’s very own T.I. to be featured on it. His fan base continues to grow, and he has yet to release his upcoming EP Owl Pharaoh, which is scheduled to release sometime before the Summer. Knowing that he has such a big fan base before his EP even dropped, I can’t even imagine how big he will be in the next months. Be on the look out, Owl Pharaoh and make sure to follow Travi$ Scott on twitter. @TrvisXX Download
To commemorate T.I.‘s first day as a free man. Jeezy decides to grace him with an invite to feature on one of his tracks, what an honor. A typical Young Jeezy song, he always sounds angry. Although I don’t know why, I’m sure he’s fairly rich. But anyway, T.I. sounds good on this, not too rusty after sometime in the slammer.
Sorry for the inconsistencies with the various features we bring to you guys. With Mashup Monday, it’s not that we don’t have mashups to blog about, it’s just I’m not in the mood for mashups every Monday.
This week, we present to you D.veloped who probably released one of my new favorite mashups with “Brassified Information”. He used the instrumentals to my old ring-tone from The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, “The Impression That I Get”. Not only does he use probably the most awesome Ska band’s instrumentals as the beat to the song but grabs vocals from a couple of female hip-hop artists for a catchy fun mashup. Brassified Information Ft. Missy & Nicki
Next we got “Son Of A Nun” which features Nelly and some interesting chill instrumentals. Son Of A Nun Ft. Nelly
A must-download if you are a fan of Blink-182, probably my favorite band from the late 90′s/early 00′s period. D.veloped takes the instrumentals to “What’s My Age Again?” and uses a sick guitar riff sample to build a dope beat with hip-hop vocals from a few different hip-hop songs. Throw Some D’s On That Blink Lastly a mashup that features an indie folk/rock instrumental to open the song then with a hip-hop beat coming in with a variety of mainstream hip-hop/pop vocals with a T.I. vocal leading the way. This mashup picks up great. Bring Em Home (Gold Jacket Remix) For more on D.veloped, follow him on facebook and twitter. Also check out his soundcloud for more music on him.
First RIP Nate Dogg, “Regulate” is one of the greatest hip-hop songs of all time!
Now onto some mashups. The mashup artists below have never been featured on Before the Bigs. The first few mashups are pretty chill while the last two have more upbeat electronic beats/synths to them.
First we got Vico Ono who uses the rapping from Skee-Lo over the always chill Jack Johnson instrumentals. If a music video was made for this song, it would be somebody laying down at the beach and slowly fall asleep, entering the dream sequence of the lyrics from Skee-Lo. I Wish I Was Jack Johnson by Vico Ono
Next we got Fissunix who uses the instrumentals to the song all white people know the lyrics of versus the vocals of a Two Door Cinema Club song I love the instrumentals of. Oasis instrumentals vs. TDCC vocals, let’s all chill by the camp fire to this song. Wonderwall You Know by Fissunix
T.I. vs The Beatles! Imagine if T.I. came out on stage performing this song while holding all those weapons he illegally owned. I don’t know how I would respond to such a site. Well done Benjamin Dranklin, the two words to best describe this song would be safe hip-hop. What You Know About Blackbird (T.I. vs The Beatles) by Benjamin Dranklin
Next we got Clubsauce who uses two underrated artists in Clipse and Bag Raiders. Clipse and Bun B on the rapping with Bag Raiders electronica instrumentals. Clipse vs. Bag Raiders – Wamp Wamp by Mouth by Clubsauce
Lastly Mr Physix “Soldier of Luchini” is Camp Lo vs Rusko vs The Temper Trap. I like how all three of these artists are blended in although you can probably insert another hip-hop act other than Camp Lo and still get a dope mashup. Download Mr Physix-Soldier of Luchini (Camp Lo X Rusko X The Temper Trap)
For this week’s mashup monday I decided to dedicate it to three emerging mashup DJ’s: The Friendly Giant, John Marr, and Party Ben. I have 2 songs I like a lot from each artist below to listen and download.
Did you watch the above video yet? It’s pretty weird but I guess David Guetta really likes the little weird looking kid to have him lip sync over some mainstream hits David Guetta produced. Do you think it’s weirder than this video with 50 cent?
We almost always post up-and-coming artists but occasionally I like to update you on some of the mainstream acts putting out dope new songs. Here’s 5 songs from some of the best artists in the game.
If your wondering where Olu got this beat, it’s from Wiz Khalifa’s “Real Estate” and T.I.’s “Pop Bottles”. I know, I personally hate freestyles over other beats but some rappers are exceptions.
BEFORE BIGS is about providing you with the best up-and-coming musicians while assisting their efforts to break into mainstream. We feature artists and their music from a variety of genres including hip-hop, indie/alternative, rock, pop mashups, and electronica/remixes.
