The Knocks Brightside (DiscoTech remix) *must listen DANCEI love The Knocks so anything that uses their music, whether its a mashup, remix or music originally produced or remixed by The Knocks, then I need to listen to it. This popped up on soundcloud earlier today and when I saw it at the top of my soundcloud dashboard, I immediately started writing this post while simultaneously listening to what is a great remix from DiscoTech.

The Knocks – Midnight City ft. Mandy Lee (M83 Cover) *Video+mp3

The Knocks Midnight City ft. Mandy Lee (M83 Cover) *Video+mp3So here’s an interesting cover from one of my favorite music duos, The Knocks. They cover M83‘s hit song “Midnight City”  and get Mandy Lee on some vocals. I’m not sure if I like the vocals on this song but I really dig the production as it doesn’t sound so electronic and is more natural with the piano’s influence in the song.

Update: The Knocks just dropped the music video to their cover of “Midnight City”. Watch it below!

DWNTWN & The Knocks Rock The Satellite

After the release of Best You’ve Never Heard 5 late last month, I began listening to DWNTWN like crazy. When I heard they were performing with The Knocks at The Satellite in Silver Lake, I knew I had to be there. It was my first time at this venue and I was very impressed with the set up. It has a very intimate and amazing atmosphere with a diverse crowd. Anyone will have a great time!

I first arrive with DWNTWN beginning their set. They are a very unique duo with a indie/electro/pop sound. They are extremely talented and have great stage presence. Even though they performed well, I do believe they need a third member of their group (at least for live performances). Their instrumentals are amazing. However if they had a drummer or beat maker for live performances, it will make an already amazing group even better. Check out my favorite track by DWNTWN below.

DWNTWN – “Transition” (Download)

Right after DWNTWN killed it, New York based disco/house duo The Knocks came on stage and lit it up! Not only are they great at producing and remixing, they are also legitimate singers as well. They have great vocals and lyricism. When they come on stage, the whole atmosphere turns into a big party immediately. Their music will soon be on the radio. Below is their best track. Enjoy!

The Knocks – Sunshine

June 30th, 2011 by | Dance |

The Knocks SunshineThe Knocks dropped a new summertime dance party jam called “Sunshine” that’s perfect for summer. It’s upbeat, features some hot gospel samples, and builds up to a massive crescendo before a sick drop. I imagine this as a perfect song to spin at a rooftop pool party like in the Corona commercial the Knocks were in.

B-Roc Does Memorial Day Weekend in Ibiza

artworks 000007658976 3giffx crop B Roc Does Memorial Day Weekend in IbizaI know I’m a little late, but B-Roc of the Knocks released a sick dance party mix to celebrate the holiday weekend with. I’m not familiar with any of the individual tracks, but just push play on this 40ish minute mix and you have your party right there. The mix contains no heavy whomps or nothing too intense, just 40 minutes of non-stop dancing.

Follow B-Roc on Twitter for updates of the Knocks, who are up to some big things recently, and updates for the Knocks’ label, HeavyRoc Music, of which B-Roc is the CEO.

Overall I’m a fan of the project and enjoy most of the songs. My 3 favorites are “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg”, “Knock On Wood” and “Can’t Hurry Love”.

Can’t wait for what’s next from The Knocks.
