Riot !n Paris – “Disposition” *samples Temper Trap hit, must-listen!

April 11th, 2012 by | Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap, Remix, Rock |

Brooklyn-based indie band Riot !n Paris have released “Disposition”, the first single off of their upcoming album Sample Sale. The track, which features an innovative reworking of the hit Temper Trap song “Sweet Disposition” perfectly sets the tone for their upcoming release, with its unique blend of indie rock and underground hip hop.

These guys are definitely a fresh sound, it’s got the right amount of indie mixed in. Enough to be new to your ears, but not overdone to the point where will you only enjoy this sipping an organic yerba mate through the speakers at your favorite vintage clothing store.

Zion I – Polarity ft. Macklemore & Locksmith

Zion I are arguably one of the best rap groups to ever hail from the Bay Area. They’ve been making hits for many years and have a new project coming Nov. 9th called Atomic Clock. Polarity is a sick song with a hard beat and classic Zion verses.

Hidden Gem: Muja Messiah

October 13th, 2010 by | Hidden Gem, Hip-Hop/Rap |

A part of the Minneapolis underground Hip Hop scene, Muja Messiah, released his first full-length album, Thee Adventures of a B-Boy D-Boy. He’s know for his politically incorrect satire. With politically charged subject matter like the powerful anti-Bush song, “Patriot Act,” featuring I-Self Devine and “Give It Up,” featuring Black Thought of The Roots, Messiah is a strong lyrical rapper.

He came out with his first mixtape, MPLS Massacre (Download) featuring Slug from Atmosphere and others.

His album, Thee Adventures of a B-Boy D-Boy (Buy) is solid.

Here’s one of my favorite tracks, off of his new project, M-16, Dear God(Download). Muja Messiah-Dear God (Feat P.O.S) by BeforeTheBigsNadav
If you like the above song, here’s another I enjoy from Muja Messiah.  Muja Messiah – Am I Wrong f. Mike the Martyr
