Outasight – Tonight Is The Night x Loosen Up *must-download hip-pop

September 21st, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop |

My favorite hip-hop/soul artist turned into more of a pop/soul swagger>swag artist, Outasight. He recently dropped two new future radio hits, recently with “Tonight Is The Night”, which will be a part of a Pepsi ad campaign, which means many more music lovers will be quickly scouring the web for more Outasight music. Do them a favor and recommend they check out all our posts on Outasight. Here’s a must-download party hip-pop track, “Tonight Is The Night”, which I guarantee will get radio play!

Check out the new Timeflies remix to the hit single, “Tonight Is The Night”:

After “Tonight Is The Night”, check out “Loosen Up” which once again has this positive catchy instrumental, smooth lyricism from Outasight and overall another enjoyable track from the New York MC.

Wale update *5 new songs!

July 24th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Wale has been making lots of new music in the past couple months. Love how most of Wale‘s latest songs have been upbeat and/or the rapping is off the hook! Even though Wale is working under my least favorite rapper in Rick Ross, I still think Wale can still have that quality sound he showed in his mixtapes and his debut album.

Here’s five songs that we haven’t blogged about yet that you hopefully haven’t heard yet. Wale‘s upcoming album, Ambition, drops November 1st through Warner Bros. Records.

Wale – Globetrotter ft. 2 Chainz

Wale – Bad Girls Club ft. J. Cole

Trae Tha Truth – I’m On ft. Lupe Fiasco, Big Boi, Wale, Wiz Khalifa & MDMA (5-star!)

Wale – Bait ft. TCB

Wale – Lacefrontin (one of my favorite new Wale songs)

Theophilus London – Last Name London *debut album single!

May 12th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop |

New Theophilis London, “Last Name London”, brand new single off his upcoming debut album, Timez Are Weird These Days, coming out July 19th through Warner Bros Records. Loving this indie/alternative urban pop/hip-hop whatever you want to call Theophilus’ music, it’s so interesting. I guess interesting would be a good genre for the Brooklyn MC’s music.

Listen and download “Last Name London” below, the instrumentals are so different and upbeat catchy, the lyrics are just as dope and the catchy hook just tops it off. Must download!

Theophilus London – Why Even Try *Pop/Funk dopeness

January 25th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop, synthpop |

New Theophilus London off his upcoming A Lovers Holiday EP, dropping early February. “Why Even Try” sounds like Kanye West producing pop music in the 80’s and being influenced by some of the earliest hip-hop that had those funk instrumentals.

This song is retro-futuristic but more specifically can be called urban pop with the 80’s sounding synths, hip-pop from Theophilus and featuring Sara Quin from Canadian indie rock band Tegan & Sara on the vocals. Shit, if I confused you on some of what I just wrote, then listen and download the song already.

November 4th, 2010 by | Mashup, Remix |

Kinetics & One Love did a remix/mashup to Usher’s Hot Tottie.

Hot Tottie (Remix Feat. Kinetics & One Love & Jay-Z)

More of a remix than mashup, with the mashup part’s most evident in the intro and outro.

Prospect of the Week: Outasight

August 20th, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Miscellaneous, Prospect of the Week |

Outasight – Catch Me If You Can from gregthedude on Vimeo.

Even though this rapper signed with a major record label in October 2009 with Warner Bros., Outasight is our Prospect of the Week because he hasn’t released a debut album yet, but is definately on the verge of becoming mainstream. Although Outasight is defined as a hip-hop artist, he has traces of rock, soul and some pop in the songs, which makes for a great genre-blending artist. The video above is the music video for the single, “Catch Me If You Can” from the Further EP and in 2010, Outasight collaborated with Asher Roth on the remix to the song.

On August 17, Outasight put out a mixtape, Never Say Never, which I really love and have included a link to below. This Yonkers, NY based musician will be releasing his debut album, From Here to Eternity in the Fall of 2010 (release date TBA).

Below I have included a few of my favorites by Outasight and download links to their latest mixtape (Never Say Never) and the Further EP, released in December ’09 and gained so much buzz that it isn’t free anymore 🙁  Outasight – Never Say Never – She’s Leaving Home by Hypetrak  Outasight – Never Say Never – Be Alright by Hypetrak  Outasight – Catch Me If You Can Remix (ft Asher Roth) by Tea N Muffin  Outasight – Never Say Never – Near The End (ft. Hidden Gem: Neon Hitch

August 9th, 2010 by | Hidden Gem, Mashup Monday, Miscellaneous |
Neon Hitch is an artist you will hear on the radio by 2011, I guarantee it. Please check out her wikipedia page to hear about her interesting life story, even before her music career started, but UK’s Neon Hitch is a singer/songwriter who, in early 2010, signed with Warner Bros. Records by American Idol judge Kara Dioguardi. She is currently working on her debut album Beg, Borrow, and Steal. She co-wrote “Blah Blah Blah” for Ke$ha and co-wrote and sang with electro hop group 3OH!3.

Since Neon Hitch was signed by Warner, she has released several awesome mashup-covers which I have put below.  Neon Hitch-What Starry Eyes Know (Two Door Cinema Club vs. Ellie Goulding) by BeforeTheBigsZach  Neon Hitch – Drop It Like Its Hot (Snoop Dogg vs. Alina Orlova) by BeforeTheBigsZach  Neon Hitch – Cooler Than Me (Sia vs. Mike Posner) by ekoutez  Neon Hitch – Billionaire (Who Fuckin’ Cares) by BeforeTheBigsZach
