Outasight – Figure 8 EP x music video

April 28th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap |

The best EP I have heard in 2011 is Outasight‘s Figure 8.  Although it’s only five tracks, all of them are really good catchy hip-pop/soul/R&B genre-blending awesomeness. A MUST DOWNLOAD which you can get on iTunes or for free on Bandcamp.

I rate all my music and all five songs received 4 or 5 stars which makes it blog worthy.

Below is a music video for “So What” off the EP. This gives you a good idea on the quality and type of style Outasight displays in his latest project. XXL 2012? (more…)

B.o.B Disses Odd Future and Tyler The Creator

March 25th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

After Tyler The Creator from Odd Future dissed B.o.B in his hit single “Yonkers”, Bobby Ray decided to return the beef in his new track “No Future”. Towards the end of the track he says, “Keep fuckin’ wit me you gon have no future”. This was after Tyler The Creator took a stab at his music and though I love Tyler’s music, I did lose a little bit of respect for him after he ripped on arguably the biggest hip-hop act in the game right now. Good work B.o.B at showing Tyler The Creator whose boss. Enjoy!

Outasight – Losing My Mind

January 16th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap, R&B |

Produced by 6th Sense, I was so happy to see Outasight post the bandcamp link to his newest song, “Losing My Mind”. I sincerely think with the right production, Outasight can gain some mainstream success. It’s a big reason why I ranked his “Never Say Never” mixtape in our top 10 mixtapes of 2010.

“Losing My Mind” is a alternative hip-hop jam with an R&B/Soul feel to it, like most of Outasight’s music as he has developed a strong niche in the hip-hop community.

If you like Outasight, check out his bandcamp and this prospect of the week post we did on him back in August. Enjoy!

Shout out to Chad Davis of (which is coming soon) for sending me the music video of Dave Raps’ track “In The Morning”. I have never heard of this Yonkers, New York native until today and there is not much information about this rapper out there, but I love what I have heard so far. Enjoy!

Prospect of the Week: Outasight

August 20th, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Miscellaneous, Prospect of the Week |

Outasight – Catch Me If You Can from gregthedude on Vimeo.

Even though this rapper signed with a major record label in October 2009 with Warner Bros., Outasight is our Prospect of the Week because he hasn’t released a debut album yet, but is definately on the verge of becoming mainstream. Although Outasight is defined as a hip-hop artist, he has traces of rock, soul and some pop in the songs, which makes for a great genre-blending artist. The video above is the music video for the single, “Catch Me If You Can” from the Further EP and in 2010, Outasight collaborated with Asher Roth on the remix to the song.

On August 17, Outasight put out a mixtape, Never Say Never, which I really love and have included a link to below. This Yonkers, NY based musician will be releasing his debut album, From Here to Eternity in the Fall of 2010 (release date TBA).

Below I have included a few of my favorites by Outasight and download links to their latest mixtape (Never Say Never) and the Further EP, released in December ’09 and gained so much buzz that it isn’t free anymore 🙁  Outasight – Never Say Never – She’s Leaving Home by Hypetrak  Outasight – Never Say Never – Be Alright by Hypetrak  Outasight – Catch Me If You Can Remix (ft Asher Roth) by Tea N Muffin  Outasight – Never Say Never – Near The End (ft.
