A new track off Young Jeezy‘s upcoming album TM: 103 has dropped. Today we are blessed with “OJ” (featuring Fabolous and Jadakiss). It’s an awesome song with great rapping and I love the instrumentals. Im glad to see Young Jeezy coming back strong. I look forward to the full release of the album. music from How To Make It In America *Season 2, Episode 4

October 24th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap, Reviews |

Last night featured yet another great episode of HBO’s hit drama How To Make It In America and the music added to the awesomeness of it all. In my opinion, this is by far the best show on television right now. It’s hip, fresh, and is of interest to a wide range of people. My middle-aged father has even become a regular watcher of this show and I’m sure he is not the only one in his age group to grow to love this series. Below are my favorite tracks from the fourth episode of this season. Enjoy!

Fitz and the Tantrums – “Picking Up The Pieces” (Download)

Young Jeezy – “I Luv It” (Download)

Gardens & Villa – “Neon Dove” (Purchase on itunes)

Young Jeezy (ft. T.I.) – F.A.M.E.

September 29th, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

To commemorate T.I.‘s first day as a free man. Jeezy decides to grace him with an invite to feature on one of his tracks, what an honor. A typical Young Jeezy song, he always sounds angry. Although I don’t know why, I’m sure he’s fairly rich. But anyway, T.I. sounds good on this, not too rusty after sometime in the slammer.

Dubstep *Adventure Club, Nero, Bassnectar/ill.Gates, Voodoo Farm, Diplo/Datsik

If you want to dance like a zombie, put this shiiiittttt on!

Adventure Club might be one of my recent favorite dubstep remix DJ’s. I put on for my city, let’s go!

Nero released this in August, I like that he’s stepped a little away from some of the more hardcore dubstep as this is a catchy song you can dance to without looking weird.

Now for some weird downtempo dubstep/electronic from up-and-coming DJs Bassnectar and ill.Gates. However it’s pretty good, definitely more a song for chilling out than partying to.

Next Voodoo Farm takes Marvin Gaye‘s “Grapevine” and turns it into an dubstep/electro banger. It’s got a chill flow.

Lastly we got Diplo and Datsik collaborating on “Pick Your Poison” featuring Kay. This is an electro/dubstep type track, a serious banger with dubstep that doesn’t overwhelm the rest of the track.

Pusha T ft. Kanye West and Young Jeezy – Amen

Banger. Pusha T is supposed to drop his album “Fear of God 2” at the end of the month.

Freddie Gibbs – “Stripes” (featuring Young Jeezy)

May 3rd, 2011 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

Just weeks after Freddie Gibbs signed with Young Jeezy’s record label, CTE, the two quickly collaborated on a new track called “Stripes”. Though I am not really a huge fan of the gangster rap, and the rapping is mediocre at best, it does have a catchy tune and a song that will get your head nodding a bit. Will should be seeing more tracks by Freddie Gibbs in the very near future. Enjoy!

Wiz Khalifa remixes

December 8th, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap |

When you read the title of this post, I’m sure you expected a “Black & Yellow” remix. Well your right, I got a couple good ones by some established artists and featuring an up-and-comer in YG.

Even though I’m from LA, which bleeds purple & gold when the Lakers are on top (that’s how LA fans are unfortunately), the Black & Yellow 2.0 is a little better.

Bonus: Wiz Khalifa rapping over T.I.’s “Pop Bottles”.
