Sid Sriram – 2 AM Prayer

October 10th, 2011 by | Alternative/Indie, R&B |

I’m sorry Frank Ocean, Sid Sriram is better. After spending an entire afternoon listening to all 41 of his YouTube videos, I am convinced he’s the best vocalist out there right now; not only making originals but covering other artists songs. I fall in love with anything he touches.

Check out the video for “2 AM Prayer” after the jump, and look for the free download in the description.

Karmin *youtube sensation (mp3s included!)

June 2nd, 2011 by | Music Video |

Talk about a artist that is quickly blowing up. Maybe not as fast as Kreayshawn shot up with 1 viral hit getting her a million dollar deal with Sony music or Rebecca Black. However, Karmin shows the most talent among those artists and is garnering positive reviews left and right; Karmin seems poised for stardom.

Recently the youtube music star dropped a cover to Nicki Minaj‘s “Super Bass”. She got The Roots ?uestlove on drums which only makes the video that much more fun! He also let them come on stage and perform at a show with him and The Roots in Boston.

I can’t wait to hear more original music from them, but until now, let’s enjoy some of the best cover’s to the hottest songs today.
Karmin ft ?uestlove – Super Bass (Nicki Minaj cover)
Karmin – Look at Me Now (Chris Brown Cover)
After the jump, watch videos to “Super Bass” and the song that set them off to stardom, “Look At Me Now”. Lastly a short original song Karmin made for the NBA finals! (more…)

Daily Mash – Sam Tsui, next youtube sensation?

With over 4.5 million views, I wish I could have been one of the first couple millions but that’s ok, as long as most of you haven’t seen it yet.

Sam Tsui is really good, taking three overplayed songs, (Eminem/Rihanna’s “Love The Way You Lie”, Taio Cruz’ “Dynamite”, and Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream”), and turning it into his own.

Cover/Mashups have become a cool trend with television show, GleeNeon Hitch, Sam Tsui and many more.

Fressh Kidd – “Discover Me” (Featuring Mikey French)

September 30th, 2010 by | Alternative/Indie, Hip-Hop/Rap |

Some of you may have heard this song and some may not know who Fressh Kidd even is. However, he is quite a talent. I stumbled upon his song “Discover Me” (featuring Mikey French) a few months ago when I was on YouTube looking for new Kid Cudi music. Since then, it is on non-stop play on my phone. His sound is similar to Kid Cudi’s old style of music and is another laid back and relaxing track. I hope you enjoy it! Fressh Kidd – Discover Me (featuring Mikey French) by Evanwish1

Interesting Mike Posner video

September 16th, 2010 by | Pop |
Found this on Mike Posner’s facebook. This video shows how Mike Posner and producer Benny Blanco made Posner’s 2nd single, “Please Don’t Go”. It’s my favorite track off his debut album, 31 Minutes to Takeoff.

Currently Mike Posner is doing pictures and working on the music video for “Please Don’t Go”. You know will be one of the 1st to bring it to you.

Below listen and download “Please Don’t Go”.  Please Don’t Go – Mike Posner by Camilo Mazo

Concert review: Weezer at Del Mar, Saturday 8/21

August 29th, 2010 by | Alternative/Indie, Concert/Festival Review, Reviews, Rock |

The San Diego Summer Concert Series at Del Mar is about half-way done and already there have been some great performances including The B-52s, Jimmy Cliff (concert review here), Matisyahu, and Weezer.

Last Saturday they featured Weezer, which not only performed their most recent hits, but just about all of their classic hits. The image above is their album cover to Hurley, Weezer’s latest album coming out September 14. They were inspired by the character “Hurley” from the classic American TV show LOST.

Below is a two minute highlights video of Weezer’s performance at Del Mar Saturday, August 21 and videos some other people made there.

Two-minute Weezer/Del Mar highlights:

Weezer mashing up MGMT’s “Kids” and Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face”
Weezer – “Island in the Sun”
If you’re in the SoCal area, I would check out ZZ Top on September 4, which concludes the 2010 Del Mar Summer Concert Series.

Weezer was so much fun as they made some funny jokes, did an awesome “Kids/Poker Face” mashup/cover in which Rivers Cuomo, lead singer of Weezer, put on a blond girl wig when Weezer performed parts of “Poker Face”. They rocked out playing all their greatest songs and performed close to two hours, more than I expected.

Concert Review: Jimmy Cliff at Reggae Fest 8/14/10

August 26th, 2010 by | Before Bigs Exclusive, Miscellaneous, Pop |

This is kind of late but on Saturday August 14, I went to see the horse races at Del Mar Race Track and was fortunate enough to see Jimmy Cliff perform after the races for the Reggae Fest they held that night at the Fairgrounds. I recorded the video above, I know not the best quality, that’s why I put another video below that gives you a better idea of Jimmy Cliff.

Jimmy Cliff is currently the only living musician to receive the Order of Merit, the highest honor granted by the Jamaican government for achievement in the arts and sciences, and Cliff was one of five inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year.

He performed all of his classic songs including “I Can See Clearly Now”, “The Harder They Come” and “You Can Get It If You Really Want” as well as some of his other hits. I enjoyed most of his music very that day and filmed most of his songs but uploaded my favorite by him.

Below enjoy the official music video to “The Harder They Come” one of my other favorites by him. Enjoy!

The Best of the Burbs

July 14th, 2010 by | Hip-Hop/Rap, Miscellaneous |

Chris Webby is an underground rapper from a Connecticut suburb. This Shia LeBouf look alike is one tough white dude with sick rhymes. He currently attends Hofstra in New York and has released three mixtapes. They are Teenage Mutant Ninja Rapper, The White Noise LP, and just released today, The Underclassman.

He is currently unsigned but probably not for long as this kid has a bright future. Check out a couple of his songs from his new mixtape featuring artists such as Pretty Lights and Aloe Blacc.  Chris Webby – Do Me (Feat. Rotimi) by BeforeTheBigs  Chris Webby – Do Me (Feat.
